Classic Framed Modern Stair Rugs Set

I chose these stair treads because they do not have to be tacked down and because they are washable. They were more expensive than stair treads without these features, but I think they were worth it. My previous stair treads were filthy dirty and the tacks that were used left holes in my wood steps so I was glad to get rid of them. After carefully cleaning the steps with a Swifter Sweeper, I measured the half way point on the stair tread (14 inches) with a pencil. I then marked the half way point on the stair. By matching the two pencil points the mats were perfectly aligned. 1/2 inch on each side of the width and I was done. It is easy to get exact alignment. These treads look great. I would purchase them again

Easy to remove the plastic on the back and apply. Easily repositionable, easy to cut if you need to (like I did for a partial spiral in the middle of the staircase). Feels super soft to the touch. On some pieces, the edge has the lighter carpet visible if you're looking up at the stairs - solution is to rotate the carpet around. Cats and humans of the house appreciate having more traction on slippery wooden steps - and I loved not having to entirely cover the wood to provide that. Silicone sticks pretty well to the wood without damaging anything. Some of the corners stick up a little (few millimeters) but since it's the edge of the carpet square, it doesn't represent a trip hazard.

These look great on our stairs and definitely will help with slipping. MAJOR downfall, and yes, I read it in the reviews too, is peeling off the backing is awful. It breaks apart in small pieces and some of them are hard to locate on the back of the rug itself. I've included a picture of "some" of the pieces and how they came off.
